Lake George Escape Wetland and Shoreline Restoration

Project Description: Wetland restoration and remediation and shoreline restoration at Lake George Escape Camping Resort. Project includes numerous sites where wetlands have been restored, new wetlands created, and eroded banks along the Schroon River have been restored. A major part of the restoration was to replace existing culverts with wide, open bottomed arched box culverts to enhance aquatic organism passage along a class C(T) tributary to the Schroon River. Total area of wetland restoration/creation exceeds 5 acres.

Contractor: Patrick J. Galusha Construction, LLC of Warrensburg, NY
Funding: Project is funded by Equity LifeStyle Properties, Inc., owners of Lake George Escape Camping Resort
Project Status: Project design was completed in 2019, with regulatory approvals received in the fall of 2019. Project construction began in March 2020 and will continue through December 2020.
