Walton Screw Press
Cedarwood was contracted by the Village of Walton to provide a solution to augment their existing belt filter press at their wastewater treatment plant. The existing belt filter press had issues with throughput. Cedarwood worked with the Village to provide a solution that would fulfill their needs while fitting within the existing footprint. A screw press was selected as the chosen alternative with Penn Valley double disk positive displacement sludge feed pumps. Sludge flow rate, feed solids, solids loading, polymer dosage, percent capture and discharge cake solids were monitored to ensure performance goals were met or exceeded. Cedarwood handled design, permitting and construction oversight along with project closeout. BDP Industries provided the screw press for the Village. The project was completed and placed into service in 2016.
