The wastewater treatment plant in Stamford, located in Delaware County, was originally constructed in 1978 and is permitted for an effluent flow of 700,000 GPD. The wastewater treatment plant utilizes primary clarification, an extended aeration activated sludge process, secondary clarification, DynaSand upflow filters, as well as chlorination for disinfection followed by dechlorination. The treated effluent flows into the west branch of the Delaware River.  The Plant is operated by Cedarwood Environmental Services.
