The Town of Essex is located in Essex County in the state of New York. Cedarwood Engineering Services PLLC was retained to complete design renovations to the 2nd floor of the Town Hall. This building was originally built in the 1790’s with an addition constructed in the 1820’s. The Town council wanted the underutilized 2nd floor renovated for new additional office spaces and restroom. The goal here was to retain the existing building’s character by incorporating new finish materials to match the existing. Except for the existing interior window trim and some stud walls that match the new floor plan layout, most of the 2nd floor was gutted due to severe damage from past water issues and fire damage. The bulk of the new renovation involved leveling portions of the existing floor system, constructing stud walls, installing new electrical/data/lighting, installing new G.W.B on ceiling/walls, installing all new doors, install new trim, rework existing stairs to the second floor and paint.
